I have been working in massage for just over 4 years now and it has been an interesting journey to get here. When I first decided to take up massage, and qualify I was working in publishing as an academic senior production editor, mainly on auto-immune disease and respiratory
I worked in a clinic in London Bridge treating triathletes to clients with complaints such as spondylitis, sprained ankles and general musculoskeletal problems. .
A bit late to come to it, but a new profession none-the-less and learning about the body and how it works fascinates me. I have never felt so passionate about anything, I have never wanted to do anything so much and I never realised I could make people better. But I can and it is great, and I am so pleased that my friend told me to retrain as a sports therapist. I have not stopped learning since, and every time I do a new course or see a new client, it never ceases to amaze me how the body protects itself, at our peril more times than not, but if it didn't I would not have found this great profession.
